Elevator Safety Policy

Since 2018, CLC Elevator has been supplying Georgian customers with high-quality elevators and offering a full range of services in complete compliance with safety standards, including the installation and maintenance of various types of systems.

Key Elevator Safety Standards

In Georgia, modern elevator safety standards are strictly regulated and designed to ensure the maximum protection of both passengers and technical personnel. Every system installed by CLC Elevator not only fully complies with the existing regulatory code but also meets European standards (EN 81-20, EN 81-50), which guarantees the highest quality of service for every client.

The company ensures that each unit complies with both local and international safety regulations. Our operational policy is entirely focused on ensuring that Georgian customers recognize us as the most trusted elevator company on the market. Regular elevator inspections and comprehensive technical service are among the top priorities of our business, alongside supplying the highest quality elevator models.

Essential Components of Elevator Safety

Emergency Braking System

The emergency system must automatically activate in the event of cable failure and stop the elevator's movement

Door Sensors

High-sensitivity sensors must automatically re-open the elevator doors if an obstruction is detected

Emergency Lighting and Communication System

The lighting and emergency communication system must remain continuously operational, even during a power failure

In-Cabin Emergency Communication System

Passengers must have a means of uninterrupted communication with technical personnel, regardless of the situation.

CLC Elevator ensures the integration of modern safety systems into every installation, regardless of the elevator type. This ensures that in an emergency, the cabin is brought to a stop and automatically returned to the nearest floor, allowing passengers to exit the elevator safely.

Regular Technical Maintenance

To ensure safe operation, elevator certification and regular technical inspections are mandatory. CLC Elevator offers:

Monthly technical inspections

Quarterly testing of safety mechanisms

Annual full diagnostics

24/7 emergency service

CLC Elevator’s clients can be assured that the equipment at their properties undergoes regular inspections and is in full compliance with existing safety standards, which significantly reduces the risk of accidents. Our specialization is wide-ranging and covers various segments, including: passenger elevatorslifts for persons with disabilitiesfreight elevatorshospital elevatorspanoramic elevators, and escalators.

Please note that some elevator types are more demanding and require greater technical support. What is standard for passenger elevators may not be the standard for a panoramic elevator. Before proceeding with the installation, it is essential to consult with a CLC expert. They will provide detailed guidance on the maintenance work that will be required—and at what intervals—for your chosen elevator model in the future.

Safety Rules for Passengers

The proper use of an elevator significantly extends its lifespan. If a building is equipped with different types of elevators, they must be used for their specific purposes. For example, a passenger elevator is designed to transport a limited number of passengers, and carrying freight in it is not permitted. Conversely, a freight elevator must be used exclusively for transporting cargo—passengers are not allowed inside, with the exception of authorized service personnel. Failure to follow these rules creates a high risk that the elevator’s proper operation will be compromised due to overloading

To call the elevator, press the call button. If the button illuminates, wait for the cabin to arrive

Do not touch the elevator doors or attempt to open them manually. When the doors open automatically, ensure the cabin is level with your floor before entering

After entering the cabin, press the button for your desired floor. If the doors close but the elevator does not move, press the 'Door Open' button

If the cabin stops between floors, do not attempt to exit by yourself. Do not accept help from unauthorized persons; wait for the technical service team

Do not lean against the doors or walls while the elevator is in motion

Do not use the elevator during a fire alarm

Do not overload the cabin. Do not attempt to transport explosive, flammable, or toxic materials

Do not damage the elevator equipment

Additional Tips for Elevator Owners

For building owners, the continuous monitoring and timely technical maintenance of their elevators are essential. It is recommended to:

Regular Inspection Schedule

Placement of Information Signs

Existence of an Emergency Response Plan

Building owners are obligated to ensure the continuous and safe operation of the equipment. All equipment, regardless of the elevator type, must comply with additional safety and accessibility standards.
